Judges 7:2 (NIV) The LORD said to Gideon, “You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me.’

  1. What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
  2. Has God ever asked you to do something crazy? Did you do it? How did it work out?
  3. What crazy thing did God ask Gideon to do in this story?
  4. Can you think of other stories where God asked someone to do something crazy?
  5. What do you know of Gideon’s life. (Google Gideon in the Bible.) Is this a one-off or, is this one of many things God asked Gideon to do that were a little bit crazy?
  6. What about Abraham? Did God ever ask him to do something crazy?
  7. How about Moses? Did God lead him to do something crazy?
  8. Can you think of stories where God asked someone to do something normal reasonable calculated predictable?
  9. How common is it that God asks someone to do something crazy?
  10. Some people love to do crazy things. Are they more spiritual?
  11. If you have an idea to do something crazy how do you know it is from God?
  12. If God asked you to do something crazy at this stage in life, do you think you would be willing to do it?
  13. If God didn’t ask you to do anything crazy, but to live a normal, faithful life, ,would you be content with that?
