Law #4: The Law of Community. Ephesians 2.21 – 22

Ephesians 2:21–22 (NIV) In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

  1. What does the building represent in this passage?
  2. The whole building… are there any insignificant parts of the building?
  3. Holy temple… is that talking about the same thing or something different?
  4. The whole building… rises. What does it mean to rise in this context?
  5. What does it mean to be joined together?
  6. Built together… is that talking about the same thing or something different?
  7. Are being built together… that seems to speak of ever deepening relationships. How can we move from fellowship hall fellowship to deep fellowship?
  8. Does joined together mean sitting in the same room, or is there more to it than that?
  9. Why is it necessary to be joined together in order to grow?
  10. Why can’t we grow by reading our Bible and doing what it says?
  11. According to this passage, where does God live?
  12. What application do you find in this passage?
  13. How can we pray for each other this week?
