Do Not Fear. Isaiah 41.10

Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

  1. What has tempted you to be afraid?
  2. How common is this command to fear not? (Google it.)
  3. What other examples can you think of—or search for?
  4. Why is it so important that we fear not?
  5. What does fear cost us? What bad things happen to those who fear?
  6. How is life better for those who do not fear?
  7. What would you do if you were totally fearless?
  8. How can we come to live fearless lives?
  9. What does it mean to be dismayed? (You might look it up in a couple of other translations.)
  10. Years ago, there was a book with the title, Feel the Fear; Do It Anyway. Is that a biblical idea?
  11. Another book title: Do It Scared. Is that biblical?
  12. I love this question: what would you do for God if you knew you could not fail?
